access gateways by teles
· Access gateways are not that new; they’ve been around for many years and have traditionally been installed in the operations centers of carriers (like AT&T, Verizon) and service providers (for instance Internet service providers). Now however, they are available as a reliable, cost-saving, add-on device to your business phone system!
· Gateways are devices that communicate with different networks, like traditional phone systems and data networks. TELES gateways are unique in that they also communicate directly with cellular networks. Benefits to your company:
1. Does not replace your existing phone system, but does enable you to route calls more cost effectively depending on destination. For instance, instead of making toll calls to other company offices, you can route those calls over an IP network to another gateway or IP-enabled phone system or phones. These calls now become “on-net” and there is no toll charge.
2. Instead of making toll calls to employee cell phones and decrementing minutes from the cell phone plans, these calls can be routed as cell-to-cell calls, bypassing the phone network and associated charges.
3. You can still route calls over the public phone network, and the gateway has sophisticated intelligence to choose the cheapest route. This is known as "Least Cost Routing" (LCR).
· Now that you have these three routing options, you also have better system reliability and survivability. In the event of service disruption, calls can still be routed over the phone, data or cellular networks, depending on which is still operable.
We have a presentation that illustrates all this, and we also have a sophisticated ROI calculator that allows you to quantify savings and payback periods. It’s a small investment of time to find out how your company can achieve reliability and cost savings.
